Currently Cimpro lets the user create shipmentsto a consignment warehouse only and it relieves inventoryduring time of invoice posting. For firms that ship largevolumes every day this creates a problem of inaccurate inventoryfor items that were already shipped but not invoiced till thefollowing day. This subsequently leads to other problems, likeorder entry showing higher inventory then actual.
Solution:
Changes can be made to shipment and invoicing modules to allowcreating direct shipment and to relieve inventory duringshipment release or invoice posting, whichever isdone first.
Currently Debit Memo allows only Memo Quantitybut no Inventory Quantity to be entered. It does not relieve inventory.
Solution:
Changes can be made to Debit Memo detail entry to allow Inv.Qty entry and to the Invoice Posting program to relieve Inventoryaccording to Inv. Qty on Debit Memo.
There is no protection from entering the same itemmore then once on the Sales Order

Currently Cimpro is loosing lot assignments whenan Order is partially shipped and a Back Order is created. Thismay cause problems for companies producing items with long leadtime (several days or weeks) since the lot information for anitem will not be saved during partial shipment.

Allow passworded access to any Purchase Order that was fullyreceived.
Cimpro PO module lacks multipricing capabilityand it doesn't allow to store current vendors' prices, discounts,allowances, special charges, etc. with their effective dates.

Current Vendor Inquiry does not show closed invoices.This makes it more difficult to access information quickly andconveniently.

Vendor Inquiry in Cimpro 4.25 displays a long listof Invoices without scrolling option. It is easy to miss an invoiceand it is time consuming to view the latest invoices.

There is a lack of quick Where Used inquiry. Thecurrent Cimpro program takes long time searching through all theformulas to find selected ingredients.

Inventory Transaction Register is very slow andmay take up to an hour to display/print.
Solution:
1. Optimize IT Register for speed when company code and/ordate range is selected.
2. In Basic ver. 8+: Convert ITR file to MSORT and modify programsto use this file.
Cimpro allows only one lead time value per itemregardless of the warehouse. This may not be sufficient for someorganizations with warehouses spread in various geographical points.
Solution:
Slight modification to MRP programs will allow users to enterReorder Rules after selecting a Manufacturing Schedule. They willbe able to enter multiple reorder rules for each item.
It is possible for anyone to enter someone else'sOperator Code and Password and use Cimpro without authorization.
Solution:
Modify Cimpro starting program to automatically assign OperatorCode according to their UNIX login. Modify Cimpro exit programto logout immediately without allowing to login back to Cimprowith different Operator Code.
Due to IDOL-IV limitation, Cimpro versions 5.0+lack security features of Cimpro 4.25 and prior. Everyone hasaccess to every menu and almost to every program on the menu.It is difficult to maintain a list of operators with access toeach menu.
Solution:
Create a file containing list of Operators and their accessto group of menus, like in Cimpro 4.25. Modify Idol-IV to verifyaccess privileges for a user to a menu group he is trying to access.Each Operator may be assigned a specific menu group he can access,(AP, OP, AR, etc.)
Even if you're satisfied with Idol-IV security,you may need some extra tools to be able to tell who run whichreport or program and when. You may want to see when a reportwas last executed and by whom. Idol-IV doesn't track users activity.
Solution:
Modify three Idol-IV programs in IDOL-IV object library tocall our custom written plug-in, which will then write all usersactivity to an MSORT file. A report will be provided to let youprint Idol-IV activity for Reports, Programs and Menus, sortedby Selection, Date or Operator Code.
